Go to delta.com, select "Shop with Miles," and search from your nearest departure city to HKG.
Select Price Calendar, and from LAX, set the filter to "Nonstop."
Find the dates that show 34,000 miles round trip (44,000 from some cities).
Transfer Amex Membership Rewards points to Delta at 1:1; the transfer is usually instant.
Use a desktop computer, because the Delta app does not show the Price Calendar.
Before you transfer, make sure that the dates are available and write down the total miles.
