Delta ran a SkyMiles flash sale to Reykjavik with round-trip Basic Economy from 16,000 miles plus roughly $70 in taxes — down from the 50,000+ this route normally commands. Boston is the featured city, but ten departure cities priced in the same window, with nonstops from New York JFK and Minneapolis. Paid fares for the same September dates were running about $446 round-trip, which puts this redemption at roughly 2.35 cents per mile. Delta SkyMiles Amex cardholders got another 15% off, taking Boston down to about 13,600 miles.
Go to delta.com and check the "Shop with Miles" box before you search. If you skip this, results price in dollars and you will never see the award rate.
Search from your nearest departure city to Reykjavik (KEF), round-trip, with dates somewhere in September 2026.
