[FIRST CLASS] Hawaii from 40k points each way (Lie-Flat / Nonstop - Was: 80k+)

Lie-Flat to Hawaii from 40K Points Each Way

Seattle (SEA) to Honolulu (HNL), First Class, One Way.

Alaska opened up lie-flat First Class award space to Hawaii for 40,000 Atmos Rewards points each way from five West Coast cities - Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Oakland, Sacramento, and Seattle - all nonstop, plus Seattle to Maui. That's roughly half the 80K+ these seats normally run. Cash fares on the same nonstops were checking in between about $770 and $1,380 one-way depending on departure time, so we anchored the comparison at $1,049. At 40K points plus $5.60 in taxes, that works out to about 2.6 cents per point. Seattle is the one to chase. It's the only city on the 787 with fully enclosed First Class suites, and the only one that also serves Maui.

  1. Go to alaskaair.com and toggle "Use points" before you run the search. If you skip this, you'll only see cash fares.

  2. Enter your nearest departure city, HNL as the destination (or OGG if you're flying out of Seattle), and the number of passengers. Search one-way - the return prices separately at the same 40K rate.

  3. Filter the results to "Nonstop." You're looking for 40,000 points plus $5.60 in taxes.

  4. Open the flight details and check the aircraft type. The 787 is the one you want. The A330 is a fine lie-flat backup. Walk away from the A321 - it's a recliner, not a bed.

  5. Only transfer your Bilt points once the award seat is confirmed on screen. The transfer typically posts within about 10 minutes.

  6. Book it. Alaska awards are fully refundable, so you can grab the dates now and refine the trip later.
